The NPC Project - Wilhelmina

We are slowly making our way to the finish line. Wilhelmina was the NPC I played this winter and right now I have no other non-player LARP Cons planned. So there is one more D&D NPC who I will upload eventually, but he has not made his appearance in-game yet. So, that's all the NPCs I ever officially played I will try to update this collection but stay tuned for something else for the next weeks and months (Hopefully. There is a good chance of University simply swallowing me whole this summer.)

Name: Wilhelmina ‘Mina’ Herzsprung
Origin: Barhan, Eastern Sigil, Mythodea (unknown birthplace)
System: Mythodea LARP
Played: February 2017
Status: dead
Occupation/Class/etc.: domestic servant (originally a clerk)
Background: Mina is not a wicked person naturally, though she always had the heart of a lioness. She and her little sister moved to Barhan (Mythodea) during the time their baroness also was Nyame of the Eastern Sigil and settled in nicely. Mina quickly took the opportunity to learn how to read and write and started working at a small business as a clerk. Her sister soon showed magical talent and by the time both of them died she was a skilled healer even at her young age.
When the Void took over parts of Barhan, their village was one of the first to fall. Ever since she was forced to work as a civil servant for the “villains”, eventually starting to be their spy among the ranks of the servants. Not out of sympathy but because she was willing to risk everything to save her sister – even if it meant selling others to their certain death.
During the event we were acting as servants, cleaning paths, preparing food and pampering the other NPCs. The players sadly took too long to understand that we were the weak link in the enemy’s defence and when they finally did, Mina was present and reported everything. In the end the players managed to infiltrate the castle and save one of their people, but as a demonstration of power the antagonists killed all the staff including her little sister and Mina herself among hundreds of others.
Difference from in-game look: I referenced heavily on the photos made during the events, so this is actually me in the actual clothing worn during the weekend (Not included: Huge medieval castle, sunshine and knee-deep snow. It was breathtakingly beautiful!)
Best part: I love our main villains, in case you haven’t realized by now. This time I was – although trembling and kneeling in-game – allowed to directly interact with them which was quite enjoyable. Also, we had a wonderful group of “servants”, probably laughing too much when nobody was looking and absolutely dead-panning every offer the players made to save us. Which included handing a butter knife to a bristling drow priestess, pointing towards the castles main gate and wishing her good luck, after trying to hit her with a broom when she entered the room. (“Eeeeeek, Drow in my kitchen!” *slam* was the running gag of the weekend.)
Worst part: They needed more than a day to realize they could talk to us. Mina got a Rune of the Void in the middle of her forehead as a “lesson” for the players (well, thank you!), they did not manage to free us and we’re all dead now. I’d daresay this should not have happened.

Also a big "thank you" to the amazing eqos. Her simple yet beautiful dress pattern saved me as I had to come up with a new gown practically overnight. The one I planned on using had huge pinkish stains from the theatre blood used on it for Lotta (already uploaded her drawing, that creepy ghost child) which I - of course! - only realized while packing.
