Hello again?

Hello, I guess it's been a while?
As you know, I am horrible with keeping uploads steady as well as updating people around me on a regular schedule. I have been doing things, I have been drawing, painting, crafting and sewing in these long months since my last status update. I definitly had great times, but also bad ones and the last months have been pretty rough - for everyone.
Then, the site changed its layout and I have still not figured out how to navigate it. Not that it seems overly complicated, no, I am just spending such little amounts of time here that it takes a long time to get adjusted.
But today I felt the need to a small "hellu" to the people who have added me here and maybe upload some things I did in the last... year? Some know me in real life, you guys have most likely seen all this stuff on my social media. Others I met online, then even more people are most likely fake accounts, because I'm getting very odd favourites from accounts which will be deleted days later and even stranger notes.
(Yeah, sure, I've won a free tour to LA. In the middle of Corona? Out of the blue? At least be a bit creative and tell me I've won some pens or something.)
So yeah, expect some horribly layouted journals and uploads until I have figured out how to use this thing.

Spring Cleaning

Hello dear friends and watchers,
I just scrolled over my own profile to discover that my last journal entry was written nearly two years ago. I am sorry for neglecting this feature of DevArt but I more often than not have no idea what to write down anyways.
But for those who are interested, I will now give a short summary of my last two years and then I have a question for all of you. So, if you belong to the group of amazing people who have to endure my rants about canteen food, age-old laptops and lack of time regularly, you can happily skip the next passage.
After I spent a year abroad in 2012/13 (Scotland) I went back to Germany only to move from the coast of the North Sea to a small fairytale-town in Hessia. And this is no euphemism, the Grimm brother's studied here and a lot of their fairytales were collected in this area.
I have been studying History and Archeology in the last (soon) three years and will most likely finish my minor/B.A. this autumn. This means a lot to me, even though I might be ranting about this or that, I enjoy studying a lot. Sadly this reduced my time for drawing as well as reading, as I tend to do my research in the evenings and spent my precious few free mornings with catching up sleep. Additionally I have joined the students council as well as an International organisation for History students which also consumes a lot of time and energy. The latter allowed me to travel to a range of different towns and countries in the last two years to attend International seminars.
I also have started to play Pathfinder (a d20 RPG, offshoot of the more famous Dungeons and Dragons) and also taken up LARPing (Live Action Role Play). I can honestly admit that this hobby is consuming always all of my free time, especially as I am still doing re-enactment (early medieval period) and archery. (New bow <3) On the other hand I can frankly say I regret nothing as especially LARPing spurrs my creativity in ways I never expected. Doing lots of sewing, crafting and so on since I started autumn 2013.
This is also the transition to my question:
What are your thoughts on tumblr/blogs?
I have tried to do some research and obviously the opinions vary between "best thing ever" and "spawn from hell". As I always trust you more than some random person from the internet, I would like to ask you to leave a comment or write me a note if you have any experience, tips and so on.
The reason behind this is that I am thinking about creating a small blog to post my crafts and the small sketches I manage to scribble down here and there. I would like to upload only "good quality" projects on my DevArt account, but sometimes I just feel like posting a half-finished embroidery or rough sketch to ask for opinions and to share my work with you. Especially with LARPing a lot of people use facebook for this but I'd rather keep this seperated.
So, please share your thoughts and opinions with me and thank you for reading!

Dusting

Hi guys!
I just saw that my last journal actually was from summer last year and I am talking about leaving Scotland in it and such things. Well, I'm back from Scotland for quite a while now, moved town for university and a lot of other things.
I'll make a nice journal soon, also because I want to re-open commissions. Until then I just needed this ancient other journal away from my frontpage.

Character To-Do List UPDATE

I have to admit, there isn't a lot to say right now. My last ten days in Scotland are starting now so I'm somewhere between pre-packing my suitcase, finishing my last assignments and trying not to think about leaving so soon. It will be nice to be home again and I can't wait to see my friends again but it still terribly feels like going away from home. It's been only nine months but this little flat with all its flaws, my flat mates and my colleagues I will dearly miss.
Also, sorry for not being too active the last past weeks. We said "let's do this at the end of the month" a bit too often and now I'm a bit stuffed with things still needing to be done.
Anyways, here the updated To-do list because the old one is really bothering me:

- Khaleigh: DONE
- Yarash: DONE
- Viscaya: DONE
- Saranga: DONE
- Farinn: DONE
- Simrel: DONE
- "mystery character" number 1: Yaran - DONE
- "mystery character" number 2: Risto - DONE

And then on to one gift for Nezura and two more Narakari pictures and I can happily start on my Christmas stuff

Scene 1:
Myself, sitting on the bed of my flatmate. She's listening to soundtracks, I am eating one of the rolls she made for breakfast. My other flatmates comes in, moaning that she has no motivation at all for the cleaning today. You can hear a car driving into out street on the outside.
Scene 2:
Me, jumping up, and looking out of the window. A red van is parked in front of our flat. It's the post man.
Scene 3:
Schneemaehne lurking behind the door. Through the draperies you can see the back of the postman. He is chatting with my neighbour. For minutes.
Scene4:
The postman turns around and gets a heavy parcel out of his van. Before he even can ring the doorbell he is assaulted by a long-haired woman in black PJ's - me.
Well, I did not assault him. I just nearly smacked his head because I slammed the door open. And long story short - I got my laptop back. I'm still trying to sort things out, but there will be uploadas pretty soon. Lots of them...*evillaugh*

- Khaleigh: 1/3 pictures done and uploaded (short comic is done, character portrait and ref sheet still missing)
- Yarash: 1/2 pictures done and uploaded ("adult" Yash sketch done, needs coloring)
- Viscaya: 0/1 (still want to draw her in a girly-girl dress)
- Saranga: 1/2 (will upload the second picture in the next days)
- Farinn: 0/1 (sketches done, needs digital inking and color)
- Simrel: 0/1 (all sketches done, needs to be colored and uploaded)
Plus the four "mystery" ones. If I ever do them^^'
