The NPC Project - Thirza

Description

One day late as I only returned from Heidelberg yesterday evening. Have I ever told you how much I love to draw dark elves?

Name:
Thirza
Origin: drow (unknown)
System: Mythodea LARP
Played: Spring 2015
Status: dead (as far as this is possible)
Occupation/Class/etc.: servant
Background: Thirza is not actually a person, she’s a projection of the players and inhabitant’s fears. Hidden behind nine spheres of nightmares and fears the desired item was locked away. The players had to conquer the nightmares and fears, some rather universal (fear of dying, drowning, loosing friends and family members, …), others specifically tailored to their own terrors and weaknesses. In one of those sequences the group of players had to cross through a dark dungeon filled with all kinds of monsters – giant wolves, orcs and – as some of them were elves with a Faerûn beackground – a group of drow elves.
From the little in-game play we had she was indignant about everything and annoyed by everyone. She hated her position, hated her superiors and absolutely hated being a walking storage instead of actively taking part in anything (Hold this, take that, hand me this one…)

Difference from in-game look: It is accurate. I think my wig was not as straight as it had been used in a fighting scene before, but the clothing and makeup are as I played it. (First time of not recognizing myself in the mirror at all!)
Best part: I was allowed to play with two women I openly adore. Not only as persons but also their skills in roleplaying. And both are normally figures of authority for my character (aka Aisala normally kneels before them and presses her face into the ground) and being allowed to stand beside them made me really happy. Also, I learned a lot from both of them as they used the hours of prep time to give me very helpful advice.
Worst part: The players did an amazing job which resulted in us having no fun at all. Instead of panicking they organized themselves quickly and strode through the dungeon at full speed, helping each other brilliantly and making sure no-one was caught in their fears by giving each other amazing prep-talks. At was a dream come true! Unless you spent an hour dressing yourself up, another hour waiting for them to finally enter the dungeon and then are dead in less than ten minutes because the only weapon you have is one knife. Against three men in full-plate armour. It was a harsh reminder of why so many people do not like to play NPCs :P

Drawing belongs to myself. Character created and envisioned by my GM.
All rights to the Mythodea LARP belongs to Live Adventure, respectively. Just playing in their sandbox.

That story sounds wonderful. Well not the: fast dying part, but it really sounds like you did have fun in playing her.
You really did a great job in portraying her! I love everything.
